Influencer Model

Thoughts on Influence

Having recently read Influencer, I have come to see that we need to alter our approach when it comes to influencing others to make positive changes in students’ learning experiences. For as long as I have been teacher, administrators and colleagues have been dependent on only one or two sources of influence to try to entice groups of teachers to buy into a new goal or practice. While some respond to these efforts, many do not. Consequently, many great ideas that could benefit students never find traction. Through Influencer, I have come to realize that those of us wishing to make meaningful change in education need to look at all six sources of influence in order to create learning environments that will be most beneficial for the students of this generation.
