PLN

None of us is an island, and we are not alone on this journey of teaching and learning.  We are fortunate to live in a time when we can easily access the thoughts and ideas of organizations and individuals who are on the forefront of educational innovation.  Here are a few member of my Professional Learning Network (PLN) who have become integral to my digital learning and leading journey.

  • Mindset Works – @MindsetWorks
    • The work of Carol Dweck intrigues me. Studying the growth mindset vs. fixed mindset has completely changed the way I see my role as an educator and a learner. By following @Mindsetworks, I will be able to follow the continuing development of the ideas of Carol Dweck and her colleague Lisa Blackwell.
  • New Pedagogies for Deep Learning – @NewPedagogies
    • After reading “Rich Seam: How new Pedagogies Find Deep Learning”, I wanted to follow a group that took learning beyond the traditional classroom model to encourage people to become lifelong learners.
  • Tilisa Thibodeaux, Ed.D. – @TechieTilisa
    • My first professor at Lamar University game me great insight into who I can be as a learner and an educator. She introduced me to a fuller understanding of the growth mindset via Carol Dweck’s work and the CSLE+COVA approach.
  • International Society for Technology in Education – @iste
    • As a student of digital learning, following ISTE will keep me apprised of new developments in the use of technology in learning.
  • American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language – @actfl
    • As a French teacher for over two decades, it is important that I stay engaged with professional development opportunities and new ideas in foreign language pedagogy.
  • Edutopia – @edutopia
    • As an educator, I want to be informed of thoughts across all levels of education. I need to know from where my students are coming if I am to help them to where they are going.
  • Dwayne Harapnuik, Ed.D – @harapnuik
    • This CSLE+COVA expert is a lifelong learner whose ideas make me think about what I do in the classroom and how I can alter my approach to provide my students with choice, ownership, voice, and authentic learning opportunities.
