Online Course – Week 1

Objectives

Students should be able to:

• Communicate about the places one visited. 
• Communicate about the things one saw.
• Communicate about the activities one did.

Vocabulary and Grammar Skills

• Vocabulary related to places and tourist activities in a city
• Passé composé of regular “avoir” verbs
• Passé composé of irregular “avoir” verbs

Learning Activities

• Repetition of new vocabulary using online textbook resources
• Cultural readings and formative quizzes related to the neighborhoods of Paris
• Practice and self-check of new vocabulary using online textbook resources and Quizlet
• Listening comprehension activities
• Viewing of videos on grammar concepts
  • Passé composé of regular “avoir” verbs
  • Passé composé of irregular “avoir” verbs
• Practice and self-check of grammar skills using online textbook resources
• Participation in Discussion Board to clarify grammar concepts, as needed
• Voluntary participation in weekly synchronous class meeting

Assessments

• Video blog post (minimum forty-five seconds) where students explain the places they visited and what they saw when travelling around Paris
• Blog post (minimum ten sentences) where students discuss the activities in which they participated during their trip to Paris
